Why Is My Car Pulling to One Side?

A car that pulls to one side is both annoying and a safety concern. The cause can be alignment, a tire, or a suspension component — and the right fix depends on which one.

Alignment

Misaligned wheels are a common cause of pulling. A wheel alignment adjusts the angles of the wheels to the manufacturer's specifications. If the pull appeared after hitting a pothole or curb, alignment is a likely culprit.

Tires

A tire with uneven wear, a shifted belt, or mismatched pressures can cause a pull. Sometimes rotating or replacing a tire resolves it; other times the issue is in the suspension.

Suspension components

Worn control arms, tie rods, or ball joints can change the alignment and cause a pull. We inspect the steering and suspension components before recommending any repair.
